14/1/12 Wooohooo Kings Worthy to Otterbourne

Yay for today! I have managed to disapate my previous panic with what I think was my most enjoyable run ever! Such a gorgeous route running past St Marys Church, through to Abbots Barton, Winnall then joining with the water meadows and following down to join the Itchen Navigation to Shawford and then on to Otterbourne.
I was running solo today but I loved the calm and peacefulness of plugging in my music and managing to escape into my own little world. I particularly enjoyed listening to RHCP slow cheetah as I was feeling a bit like one!!!
It was a stunning morning- breathtakingly beautiful with a thick crisp frost covering everything. The sun was shining and everything seemed to be sparkling. I didn't spy a soul for the first 45 mins making me feel like I had the Winky countryside to myself. I regret now not taking some photos of how gorgeous everything was.
My aim before I left Tom sleeping in bed was to make it to Shawford although I thought this would be a struggle. I am happy to say that the whole run was easy and I was actually disappointed to stop when Tom picked me up in Otterbourne. Sadly time restraints meant I had to stop (it must be much more convienent for your social life to be a fit git?)
I felt pleased with myself today and inspired to keep going further. My fitness is returning and I managed to 8.5m continuously, only stopping once briefly to phone Tom.
So good news! This marathon training lark seems to be finally getting on its way (I even bought a running magazine!!!!)
