Ive entered two more marathons
May26201012:47 p.m.
Following London where I dont think I got the best time I could for a marathon due to crowds etc, I have entered the Mablethorpe and the Rutland Water Marathons.
My idea is to train for Mablethorpe but if I dont think ive done enough training or think a few extra weeks would be beneficial for me, I will downgrade it to a half and then do Rutland Water otherwise I will either skip Rutland or just do it for the enjoyment of it!!!!!!
Im looking at a 6 day training plan - anyone else follow this routine? It gets me up to 70 miles which im not sure I will cope with (but it worked for Ladies Captain) and it seems to be recommended in books that Ive read.
PS: Completed an adventure race a couple of weeks ago which was a 5k circuit twice but included a river crossing (yep cold swim) and obstacle course (hay bales, cargo net etc). 4 of us went as a team and it was great fun - definitely recommend it but I was hyperventilating doing the swim cos of the cold and having to talk myself into calmness.

edwards_pk 'Well done with the adventure race Hev, sounds good fun, havent done one of those for years. Know what you mean about London regarding crowds, I know its not a marathon to do for a clear fast time but it seems to be getting worse everytime I have the pleasure to run it, good luck with the marathon plan.' added 26th May 2010

crooxi 'That sounds like a plan, one way or the other. Still think you should have come over here and done the night marathon in Biel - though that probably wouldn't have been a PB! The cold swim etc. was very brave of you!' added 26th May 2010

onthefloor04 'the 6 day plan is quite doable but build upo to it rather than just bumping the mileage up massively..oh you're a runner so you'll ignore me anyway but you can'y say I didn't try :0)' added 28th May 2010
