Final LSR - 200 mins ....followed by another visit to chiropractor.

Apr1020102:04 a.m.

Monday's LSR of 200 minutes off-road was marred by cramping to right calf - but I finished it Smile . I wore the 2XU calf guards to protect against further shin splints and they felt quite comfortable but halfway I felt right calf tightening up and stopped to stretch and massage the area. After the run had cold shower on legs and used ice pack to calf, but pain still persisted, so went to chiropractor next day for treatment (which was in itself very painful - stretching, deep massage, manipulation to right calf and other body parts Yell). Seems to have done the trick as a 50 min. run yesterday was painfree. Laughing

So the taper begins and I hope to remain injury-free for the next 2 weeks before VLM. Plan has 20 run Saturday followed by 120 mins LSR on Sunday, then 2 short runs mid-week with 70 mins next Sunday.

I'm working in Surrey again next week so hopefully it will be warmer than in Shropshire although it has been quite warm and sunny this week so far. It's great to be running without winter kit on Undecided.

16 days to VLM! Surprised

Good luck to al VLM runners during these taper weeks.

Keep on shuffling! Laughing
