I completely changed my focus at mile 5 on Sunday. My goal was clear---to complete this race. I am blessed that I had enough people supporting and encouraging me along the way. I felt that my finisher's medal was really a "Survivor's Medal". I think I worked harder during that marathon than I did the 18 or so hours I spent in hard labor while birthing my daughter (THEN I had to have a c-section--see the similarity with the race being called off!) All that work for nothing? NO, all that work and I am still around to enjoy the rewards!

Hey Becca,
Wow-we had nearly the same time-It appears you started quite a bit earlier than I did-it was about 21 minutes into the race before I hit the start. Once I realized the "race" was over I visited with family and friends, who provided me with fluids. I was SO dehydrated. I think I drank 5-6 bottles of gatorade and water before I had to go to the bathroom!
I'll be thinking of you in the upcoming days, and praying for things to go well. God bless you.
