Post Marathon

I have I feel recovered from the Marathon! I had a week off then did some gentle runs, including 10 mile runs on the weekend, we have just had 2 weeks in Majorca - unable to run as we have the 3 children and were in a hotel so my husband and I had to have 2 rooms as too many kids for one room, I wouldn't leave the kids to go for an early run. In previous years we have had an apartment and I have snuck out in the early hours before sun up, to have a run, then a lovely swim all before breakfast and anyone else is up! This time however - unable to sneak out and leave the children - I didn't get one run in 2 weeks! We were also half board so food was definately plentiful - excellent basis to recover from a Marathon!
Came home, next morning set out for a run - 4 miles - legs like jelly!!!!!
I have a 10k 1st August so I cannot afford Jelly for legs - so head down and getting out, I have been knackered as it has been so warm - have just been out for a 7 mile run and it took me back to the last 6 miles of Edinburgh - running through a furnace! Awful! So now I am still trying to cool down before heading to the swimming pool this evening for a Gala - oh yes straight back at it!
Oh and I finally recieved my Edinburgh Marathon T-Shirt a few days before going on holiday so 2 1/2 weeks after everyone else got theirs at the end of the race!
