First KTC Run
Dec18200812:02 a.m.
I'm NOT a morning person. I, too, slept through the KTC training run two weeks ago. I just couldn't resist the warm cozy bed on my one "sleep-in" day. But this past week, I pulled myself together and did the 8-miler from New Balance. It was very enjoyable. It's funny because I could have saved some time by just running home rather than in circles around West Knoxville... I clocked it, and from New Balance to Karns is about the same distance we ran on Saturday. It's interesting to consider mileages while I drive now. It's only 6 miles to work each day, and even though I know I can now do 6 miles easily, it still seems so ridiculous to run to work!
My sweet husband did my Monday 3-mile run with me in the dark. He's always been the runner of the family, but he's been slacking abit since he cut off his finger tip a few months ago, and I actually out-ran him! I kept up with him for the first time ever, stopped less frequently than he did, and had to motivate HIM to finish!! I even caught him breathing heavy once :)
I'm not harping on Clay -- he's a natural runner and will pass on by me in a matter of days, but it does make me continue to realize the strides I'm making!
Tonight I'm scheduled for 6 miles, and since it's cold, dark, and raining, I'll head out to the gym. My motivation is low, but I think I'll overcome it here in a little while. Wednesday runs are getting more and more time consuming...
