Great East Run
Oct1220099:12 a.m.
First race since my illness so i was very nervous before the start. Adrenalin must have kicked inbecause I did the first mile in under 8:20 before settling in to a rythm of about 8:40 from about 8 miles it started to get difficult and I slowed to about 9:00 min mile pace but kept on working hard to finish in 1:55:03 on my watch (the official results are not published yet.) Well pleased with the time considering what I have been through in the last 12 months and I Was aiming for under 2 hours.
Now the real hard work starts as I been accepted in the ballot for the VLM and want to get under 4 hours.

Great result and doubly so with only recently having finished chemo.. Congrats on the ballot place - nice to know the training is well under way and that you have a good goal to aim for. Good luck on the health and the training front.' added 12th Oct 2009

Sarah_DC 'just read your blog intro and am truly inspired and humbled - it really puts things into perspective and to think yesterday i couldn't be bothered to run because i was soaked through from standing on the rugby side line watching my son. i'm sure that you will achieve and amazing result in london, well done on the GER .' added 12th Oct 2009
