    The Beginning.

so ive signed up for the Virgin London Marathon 2013. hmmm not sure this is one of my best ideas but only time will tell. Because this marathon employs a ballot system, me signing up does not ensure i will be at the start line come April, however i intend to train as though i will be. so this week i have kicked it all off and done two runs. go me! which, might i add, is double the amount of exercise ive done since about February! more go me!

To say i am unfit is somewhat of an understatement! since damaging my ACL playing football 4 years ago i have gained approximately a stone a year. not good. so ive decided to set myself a marathon of a goal to help try and get myself back into shape. crazy maybe, but im the kind of girl who needs a big goal to focus on otherwise i wont do it. i figured if i applied for a big, high profile event, told everyone about it and got them to sponsor me, theres no way i'd have the balls to back out. im starting to think i was right, the more people that know the better.

I also have another huge incentive. four years ago i lost my twin sister to a rare form of bone cancer. she was 20, well we both were. which totally sucks ass! During this time we received support from the Bone Cancer Research Trust and in return organised a charity run for them. its been a while since ive done any fundraising for them. Applying for London '13 seemed liked a good way to rectify that. if im lucky enough to get a ballot place i'll be running for them. if not, my application for a Golden ticket place with the charity is already in the post. wow.. this is definitely getting serious, and so it needs to be. Four years ago i made a very big promise. when my sister died i swore i'd walk to the ends of the earth to make sure this never had to happen to anyone else. To be honest i havent dont much about that lately so 26.2 miles of running seems like a pretty good start. No time like the present.

    My new bible.
