    Week 1 down....and feeling good...

So Wednesday I went to the gym with PT - still achy after Tuesday but ready for action! And she was mean.....instead of 4-6kg weights (dumbells) she had me working with 6-9kg!! I know I said I wanted to work my arms but I didn't want them to fall off!!! Oh well. Great session.

Today up to Downs again for what I thought would be another TRX session. I was wrong - but only slightly. 20mins TRX and then running to top of Bridge Valley Road - big long steep hill from near Bristol Zoo down onto the Portway under Suspension Bridge - and the task was to run down th track next to Bridge Valley Road then run down the 65 steps at bottom and turn around and walk up. Then do it again. Three times. It was the steps that killed me. I don't really get on with running down hill as I always envisage myself falling or slipping flat on my face! Was good though. Then had to walk back up to Ladies Mile where I had parked car.

Got some meaurement news though...in past 4 weeks have lost half a stone/3.5kg, and lost another inch off waist and legs. Hips and arms haven't changed in last 4 weeks. Plus am wearing jeans that haven't been able to wear in about 3-4 years! Wedding dress shopping appointments are booked and I'm ready...

Next week got session with PT Monday, running club Monday evening and then will go to gym or for a run Weds. Can;t fit as much in next week as am doing some website training at my Dad's work next week and then go on hol 4.30am Friday - Portugal 10 days! villa with private pool so will get some swimming in. Can't wait...

    bye

    Busy busy busy...

Hi, sorry havent updated for a while - been very busy with end of term things to do!

Saturday had a session at the gym with PT and she has upped the regime again - yeah! so to start with, insted of just lunges around the studio, I had to do lunges around the gym (studio was being used) with a weight (15kg) on my shoulders!! Great!! one legged squats with weights are defo my forté and I can now do 10 press ups properly! am stil enjoying the session but just as it's starts to get easier and more enjoyable she goes and chnages it to make it harder!!! I know that's what needs to happen but still...

Monday evening running with Sole Sisters was great. Started at Bristol City Football ground and went through the park opposite to get to the towpath opposite the portway by the railway track. Ran about a mile and a half along there under the Suspension bridge then went up this rather large hill (very awkward terrain) which was very wet and slippy and no-one managed to run up it really so was alot of fast walking and running when it wasn't so slippy/muddy! At the top of that hill we went round leigh woods and past so huge houses which had amazing views over Bristol and got to Ashton Court entrance. Ran through Ashton Court past the house and cam eout at the bottom by Bower Ashton. Downhill a lto of the way so was good for pace etc and the last little hill at the bottom I went fairly fast (for me!) and then when I got onto the flatter bit decided to see if I could keep the pace/technique up and I could - felt like I was flying - to others probably was stil slow but for me it felt great!! Louise said she was talking to me and then suddenly I was gone! we did 4/5 miels a bit cross country, couple of hills with the one hge one then lots of down hill. Really enjoyed it. the great thing now is that I don't stop to walk at all! We had about 4 regroup points where we wait for each other (usually about 2-3mins) and thats it! So much easier to push through the barrier now and hopefully next step is working on speed

Ta da for now. End of term this week so apart from a qucik session tonight, next run is Monday evening on the Downs.

    xx

3 mile, run, 4.5 mile walk, surfing all day then 4.5 mile run - what a way to spend 3 days!

Yes it's true, I had an incredibly active weekend! Can't believe I managed it all and am truly shattered now! So, Saturday morning, got up early to take other to train station, then got 2 new tyres for car, then went for a run with my Dad (remember I entered him for 5k run in September!) He hasn't been running outdoors much before I don't think (at least in recent years..) but does a lot of walking in preparation for when he goes trekking in nepal about every 18months. He has good speed (better than me) but not as much endurance and he got cramp like feelings in his foot. I think he'll be fine!

After that I rushed home, showered then went for a 4.5 mile walk along the Cotswold Way just off J18 of the M4 with Sarah. We had a mini picnic half way round and that was good fun. A few hills and weather was lovely.

Sunday we decided to go surfing for the day in North Devon with others half's sister and her fiancé. Originally it had been suggested we leave at 7am but I said that seems a bit early...in the end we aimed for 8am and left at 9am. Got to Putsborough beach (nr Woolacombe) at about 10.30 and left at 6pm. Was glorious weather, perfect waves and a great day had by all. My surfing has even improved plus did a bit of swimming in the sea too.

Was so hard to get up for work Monday morning and spend a lot of the day just daydreaming! Wasn't sure about going for my run with Sole Sisters in the evening but did and am glad I did. For the first time ever, I didn't stop although went at a fairly slow and steady pace. There were 2 huge hills that I made it all the way up and a a few smaller ones.

now I am sat in work truly shattered!

    PT session wednesday!

    PT session and I rocked!

Had a course all day yesterday so only had 45minutes session yesterday but it was brilliant! I can see the fairly dramatic improvement and I'm am v pleased. Only problem now is that regime may change to bring some challenge back to it....am off running again with Phil(brother) tonight. Going to do same route we did fortnight ago and see if there's any improvement there.

Tomorrow will be taking my Dad out for session number 1! my turn to be PT...going to do a fairly easy interval session just a mile or so but starting off jogging for 30secs then walking for 2 mins. I have to bear in mind that he probably hasn't done any outdoor running for about 20years! He does a lot of hill walking as he goes to Nepal a lot but running is another matter.

Saturday I have a 5-6 mile walk planned with friend Sarah and picnic lunch (weather permitting)

    bye
