next time they might believe me

May10201010:33 p.m.

at the start of every session with the "beginners" group, I say the same things, for the benefit of those who have not run with us before.

1. Has anyone any injuries since the last time
2. The group runs at different paces, but we will regroup regularly.
3. We will stop at specific points, especially if the leader gets lost
at this point everyone laughs politely. NOT for the first time the leader missed the turning, resulting in a 2.5 mile detour. What should have been a 3.8mile run turned out to be a 5.3 mile run, over more hills than there should have been. The run took 1hour 13 mins instead of 50 mins. Several of the group are doing the Manchester 10k on Sunday, they have advised that running the rest of week may not be a good idea. When we returned to the track, I was so please and proud as punch, on top of good run and everyone enjoying themselves despite getting lost, my Granddaughter had remain within the track fencing and was waiting, very loudly for us to return :-)

  • superrunningmummy 'maybe you need run the route first and mark it! i would and i am terrible with directions! i always get asked for directions in london and i just point randomly and hope the people don't get lost and then tell the police 'there was a blonde woman who told us to go this way three years ago'!' added 11th May 2010
