People keep asking me..........

Apr1620076:31 p.m.

"are you ready?"  and "are you fit? "

Truth is I don't know if I am ready but do know that I have followed the training plan as much as possible and feel as confident as I can (without being certain) though I am little nervous.

My answer is "I hope so" but in my mind I think "what do you think I have been doing for the last 5 months"

The other thing they do is then go and tell me some horror story that they have heard about people the know of who have struggled doing a marathon. My answer is those people obviously made mistakes along the way and I remind them tens of thousands have finished a marathon. I cling onto that thought to calm myself

For any of you interested I am race no 5975 and so start from the blue start. I hope to get round in about 4.15 but anything under 4.30 would suit me just fine. In fact just finishing would be good

I will be in my Cancer Research vest (a fetching  turquoise colour) and cunningly disguised with the word PHILIP on the front. (Well it will be if the iron on lettering works).

Would love to meet anyone whose life I have been following for the last five months or so.

Off for a little 3 mile jog soon just to keep the legs going.

This journey will soon be over and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. Take care one and all,

My mate with a slight heart condition passed out around mile 23. Was unconscious for quite a few minutes, spent over and hour in a St John Ambluance. But still got himself to the finish line and collected his medal. Anything is Possible (or as Addias like to say Impossible is Nothing)' added 16th Apr 2007
