Overview

For anyone who doesn't know, I am PhilK. A 44 yr old diabetic grandad (to be in September).  Started blogging in Sept 2006 and found an invaluable source of hints, tips and information. Which I will use again and again.

I did FLM 2007 in a very slow time and been injured pretty much since then. Illotobial Band, Plantar Faciitis and being a lot overweight means that I didn't take part in any races in 2008. I am determined to do the London Marathon again though, it really was a great day and I have an 8 hour time to beat.

I don't really mind if I get rejected for 2010, or 2011, that will mean 5 rejections in a row so I should be guaranteed a place in 2012 (I bet they change the rules that year - mainly to accommodate all the deferrals from 2011)

I am just getting started again after a 6 month injury lay off. I intend to get blogging regularly again - mainly for the motivation you lot give me.

Right, where do I re-start?

I really should learn

That I cannot run on an empty stomach.

Hungry - I get half a mile down the road and that's it, I have no energy and no desire to run any more so I turn round and go home. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a meal before I go out but I do like something in my belly (and no comments about Wales fitting into it Ruddy!). Today I have eaten some crumpets for breakfast and a bowl of soup and melba toast for lunch, even I know that is not enough to energise anyone for a 5 mile run. Yet I do it so often. A bowl of porridge half anhour before I go out always works, why don't I learn?

WiiFit - I did half an hour yoga before I went out today, and then some aerobic games for 20 minutes. Rahter than stand on the path doing some stretches I though I would warm up that way, I don't think it was that that knackered me out too much to run.

A game - really it's for the FLM2007 bloggers but anyone can have a go if they want. I see Rachpops posted today (hello Rach), and Kim C has re-appeared as have I. Pete E blogs sometimes as well but I wonder who, out of the 2007 bloggers, will be next? Bupa? Trev L? Trev C? LoopyLou? So let's see who can guess correctly who the next blogger to make a comeback will be. No prizes, just a bit of fun. One rule. They cannot have blogged in the last 3 months. My money is on.. ummm. .. Bupa. That means, Lou, Hat, JohnF, Sean and one or two others can't be picked.

Never ever give up

I was only missing due to no internet lol, but I admit blogging was a bit sporadic before that. Have no flippin idea who's blogged and who hasn't recently. One person I wish would make a comeback is Henrik, he would be quite useful
