This time last week...

...you know what I'm going to say. I was running the London Marathon! It sems so long ago now, and I am itching to do it again. I ran 26.2 bloody miles, I feel like I can do anything. This weeks recovery has been..
Monday -after a huge good old English fry up breakfast (deserved I am sure you will agree) we took a slow drive home. A few aches and pains but nothing unexpected except from my groin. which, when I look back at it, was to be expected really. I went into the marathon with a slight groin injury, it was fine on the day but I knew it wouldn't be happy once I had stopped. I ate a lot.
Tuesday - busy doing nothing. Except eating.
Wednesday - marathon aches are all OK, still there but nothing to worry about. The bloody groin is killing me. Put on 4lb at fat club the week after I ran a marathon! Too much carb loading before and after? Wasn't worried at all because I had a shiny medal to show off. Still did bog all all day.
Thursday - looked at future races to do, found loads. Now to find some money for them. I feel like I could easily run 10 miles and want to use that feel good factor before I lose it, but my bloody groin hurts! Went to a football match in the evening but had to lean on the barrier almost the whole game as my leg was hurting.
Friday - finally gave in and popped a few anti inflammatories for my groin which is still killing me. Still ate crap but toning it down now.
Saturday - leg was feeling better, still hurts too much to run though. Did sod all else. Had a curry in the evening, Chicken Tikka Naga (vindaloo hot). Lovely. Then ate a bar of chocolate! Ooops.
Sunday - I want to go for a run, I feel like I could run for miles and miles and miles and miles but my leg is stll a little painful. And I don't want to aggravate it by running too soon.
Going to give it a few more days to see if I recover naturally, if not then a trip to the docs for some free physio is in order. I am not too fussed about entering any races right now as I know that if I do, I will train on an injury. Plus, I need to find the money as some are so expensive. But if they are relatively cheap they are usually a small field and, unfortunately, I need to hide in the middle of a large group. Did the coming last thing once, don't want to do it again if I can help it but, saying that, the race I came last in takes place very soon. 1M from my home.. Hmmm....
Never ever give up
