Overview

Hi there!  For years i've shunned any kind of excercise stating many various excuses but 5 weeks ago i bit the bullet.  My first  time out 'running' was a shambles could barely walk or breathe let alone run!!!  Five weeks in and i'm loving it. Go out 3 times a week, early doors (5am!!!!!! ahhhh) just me and my music. Can jog/run for 25 mins now without stopping - i know hardly alot but i'm proud of me.  Going to keep increasing pace and would like to take part in a 5km run by end of year.  I love running in the rain (cools me down and hides the sweat -yuk) which is great cos we get loads in England. So if ever you see a fat girl running give her a big smile and blow her a kiss.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Didnt blog much after my 5k in oct, took it easy for a wee while, cos i'd done what i set out to do, and kinda lost my way for a while.  So to get me back into it have entered another 5k run at the end of feb, and made new year resolution (for 3rd yr running) with best friend to do the race for life this year.  So all signed up........

Fingers crossed that the enthusiasm lasts this time

Wishing you all well

Thanks for the comment :)

I think I'm where you started! I haven't done any proper jogging or running since High School, so about 9 years ago! It's gonna kill me! lol! My aim aswell is to run the 5 km RFL this year as I've walked it for the past 2 years.
Your should be very proud of yourself even if you don't think it's much to run, and losing 2 1/2 stone is fantastic - well done you!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Great to hear you have a new goal, just what you need to get you out the front door in the new year and put an extra spring in your step!

Good for you! I find that I need regular goals to motivate me to train. There is nothing like the thought of humiliating myself by not finishing a race that I could do last year to get me off my bum.

Can I tempt you with a 10k race towards the end of the year, maybe?
