Overview

I have had terrible bad luck with injuries since limping my way around Chicago 2007. I did manage London 2009 but only after 3-months training. New York 2009 was nearly a wash out but the one thing that has kept me going is running NYC marathon for Children with Leukaemia (CwL). This time around raising money for CwL is more personal as the son of some one I know has been diagnosed with Leukaemia.

If you want to sponsor me and help CwL - visit my web site: www.bmycharity.com/rpaveynyc09

For my alternate goal is to run all 5 Marathon Majors. So far I have Chicago ('07), London ('95, '98 & '09) and New York ('09) with plans to run Berlin ('10) and Boston ('11).

Back online with Real Buzz after 8 months. I stopped adding posts because I seemed to get injured when writing about how well my training was going. IN the 8-months away for Real Buzz and no change so it is just the case that I am an old fart whose body struggles with the punishment of training for marathons. Oh well, that's life I guess.

So I am back training again after missing August and half of September with a hip complaint. Fortunately, I had an impact injury so I was able to train on the X-Trainer in the Gym. I am fit and will have 7-weeks of 30ml/week under my belt before I tackle the New York City marathon on 1st November. I have kissed goodbye the thought of running 3hrs and I have resigned myself to jogging around and enjoying the atmosphere. At least I'll have a long weekend in the Big Apple with my wife and two eldest children. It will be a blast.
