Week of March 15
Mar2420106:21 p.m.
Times are busy! I was happy to get a solid week of training in despite a lot going on in my life. I had to prepare a presentation for a conference, work on my book on dementia, prepare for our wedding next month (although K has been doing almost all of the work), and moonlight over the weekend. I guess the running is what I need to keep me sane!
Monday and Tuesday were easy days. Wednesday I did a workout of 6 x 1000m with 2 minutes rest, times ranging from 3:14 to 3:22. Thursday I took off to go to the Bruins-Penguins hockey game. Friday I ran a 15 mile tempo at marathon pace. Saturday was easy. Sunday I ran 22 miles in 2 hours 24 minutes. It was good to get back on the Newton Hills route, picking up the course of the Boston marathon from Newton-Wellesley Hospital (around the 16th mile mark) and taking it home.
Overall it was another 102 mile week, in 6 days. Good thing this next week will be a recovery week!
