Jusst to confirm that i have gone totally nuts I have signed up for 2 marathons in 2009.
I am doing Blackpool (hometown) on 5th April and then Edinburgh on 31st May.
I want to continue training, and I need to have a goal ahead to keep me motivated. I am going to try to do better training this time, to include speed training and maybe do a yoga class to get flexible!
Anybody got any advice for a 2nd marathon runner?
Obviously I would love to do NYC again in 2009, but it comes down to money as ever. We shall see. London is also a target over the next couple of years.
Can anyone recommend a god european marathon to do?

hilaryjohnson 'Wow, 2 marathons in 2 months - and I thought I was a bit mad! I know what you mean though - I love running, I need a goal to train for and NY has me hooked on marathons! I've heard very positive reports of both Paris and Berlin - particularly Berlin - I'll probably attempt one of them at some stage. If you fancy the US again I've also heard good things about Washington (Marine Corps), Boston and Chicago. So much choice..........! All the best with your future running. Hilary' added 9th Nov 2008

Mind you I have never run it before, but Paris is a great city. I've done Berlin a few years back and thought it a little overrated (compared to London and NY that is) the organisation wasn't of the class you'd expect from ze Germanz.' added 10th Nov 2008

Jukkav 'Paris beats Blackpool? Blackpool is famous for its Rock right? Paris is famous for snails. I am therefore not entirely certain that Paris beats Blackpool. We will have to compare notes after.' added 16th Nov 2008
