About Training Starts for Speedy Sneakers Runners
It’s just about time again to start training for the Columbus Marathon. Our ladies will start their 16-week program around the first week of July.
This year we have a few runners entering the full marathon after our first year runners last year ran the half marathon.
This brings up a point to talk about and that is if you dream of running a full marathon one day but have not run a half marathon then you should first consider running a half to get a taste of the type of training that is required to be successful at a long distance event.
There are many facets to training for an endurance event that you will need to learn. The long runs, the pacing to get through long runs, your food and liquid intake and your recovery. All these are the “other” things you need to learn about that are very much different than training and running a 5k race.
So gets started training today and ensure a successful race in October.
