Back Running

Mar0420109:46 p.m.

It's been a bit of a quiet week and a half on the running front. The niggly discomfort in my ankle/calf (couldn't seem to really pinpoint where) that started a couple of weeks ago continued following the Wokingham half. I tried a couple of short runs - the running wasn't hindered but was a bit uncomfortable afterwards - so reluctantly I decided I'd better rest for a few days. Mind you when I awoke on Sunday morning to the sound of rain battering on the window I wasn't too upset at not heading out for a long run!

This week I've done a couple of sessions on the cross trainer in the gym and have got back running again the last couple of days. Done about 9 miles in total and whilst the calf is a bit stiff it feels generally a lot stronger this week.

Off to Eastbourne this coming weekend and running the Eastbourne half marathon on Sunday. I haven't run down Eastbourne seafront for over 20 years so looking forward to it. As a teenager I did the 10 mile 'Eastbourne Fun Run' a couple of times (and then gave up running for 15 years soon after!). Gets a bit exposed on the prom so a nice still morning would be good...
