I spend my winters in Ft Lauderdale, and do enjoy the park, but for some reason, when the race went into the park, it seemed that I ran slower. I think because there is a lack of people, and the park is real quiet. My timing was off when I exited the park, I did not have the "race buzz" I felt like I was the only person running. Anyone else have any thoghts???
Maybe there could be more people in the park as spectaturs, or have some music or something.
Your right, the park did seem really quiet. I was starting to think that I missed a turn somewhere. When I saw some runners come up behind me, I knew I was still in the race. The only thing I kept telling myself in that park was that no matter how long this path is, I only got 4 miles to go and I'm at the finish line. There was also an attractive Latina runner that I was running next to, so, that didn't hurt my run. Although after she blew by me, it was back to trees again. The cool thing is she showed up in one of the pictures taken of me by Brightroom. I don't know about you, but I didn't even realize my picture was taken as often as it was.
