Anyone planning on taking part in this year's adidas Women's 5K Challenge?

I'd like to - but might be away for it.

I'm planning on doing it, but I'm a bit nervous, I struggle running for the bus! Looks like it would be a fun event though.

You should do it and rope in a few of your friends or work colleagues or even your mum!

Woop woop. Good luck realbuzz team members!

Woop I've entered and set up my fundraising page (finally did it!). It's a shame you can't do it with us Jack - I think we should find a race for you to enter Tongue out!

Thanks Jack! Yep, it's definitely your turn next to enter a race, you don't want us to have all the fun!

Tempting - I think I might need to look into doing it, I need a challenge to keep me away form the ice creams.

How's everyone's training going?

Posted 22.07.11, 10:40am

I managed 12 minutes non-stop running yesterday! It was meant to be 15 minutes, but it was so hot at the time, that I left it at 12. I'm going again tomorrow morning so will aim for 15 then!

Posted 25.07.11, 11:30am

I've done 15 minutes twice now, and it's not getting any easier! I'm building up to 20 now this Sunday... bit scared about that!!

Posted 02.08.11, 10:57am

How did the 20 go? I've been having trouble when I hit about 12mins and have been getting stitches booo, but I've read up about them and how to avoid them so hopefully tonight's will go better.

The 20 actually went better than expected! It's weird, I did 20 and felt fine and then did 15 the next day and was dying... feel like I'm getting worse! Although it was really hot and sunny when I did the 15 so I'm hoping that's the reason it was much harder!

How did your run go last night, did you manage to avoid a stitch?

Posted 19.08.11, 9:43am

I did 20 minutes last night and it went really well, probably the best run I've done so far - yay! I focused a lot more on my breathing and managed to avoid a stitch the whole time Laughing

Yey that's great! Smile

I missed my run on Sunday, so trying to catch up now! I was supposed to do 25 minutes so think I'm going to attempt it tonight... Not sure if I'll manage it though!

Posted 24.08.11, 12:24pm

How did it go? I think the extra 5 minutes is going to be brutal - I'm going to try and attempt it on my Friday night run.

Posted 25.08.11, 9:16am

It was pretty tough! I'm not sure how I'm going to manage the 30 mins I have on my training schedule for this Sunday! Especially as it's the day after my birthday so I may not be in the best shape for running...

Have you done the 25 mins? How did it go?

Posted 30.08.11, 11:37am

I managed 24 (to be specific) the other night, but to have made it to 25 I'd have had to run down my hill, and didn't fancy having to run back up it again. I'm going to attempt the fill 25/30 mins on Thursday I think... the training plan goes down after that doesn't it?

Posted 31.08.11, 8:31am

Well done on 24, sure if you can manage 24 you'll be fine with 25! Smile

Yeah, think it's like 10 and 15 minute runs next week... that'll be a relief!!
