Has anyone been watching the programme with Bill Bailey? I think most of it is filmed in Capetown. I'd love to go and see it first hand. Has anyone been and done this before and seen the urban baboons in action?

ha ha love it. We had a troop where I stayed in SA, they were awesome to watch but the big males are so scary. They're absolutely massive!

Love this programme too. Clearly those urban baboons are not to be messed with. Couldn't believe one guy was chasing after a baboons just to get his tomatoes back!

It's pretty sad seeing them as they are forced to live in the urban environment due to encroachment from towns and cities. Sadly a lot of the baboons featured in the programme are becoming fat bloaters because they are foraging through the bins and gorging on the high fat rubbish we throw away.
It ain't half hot when you're running, mum.
What would you do if you found one of these ransacking your kitchen cupboards? When fully grown they can be a pretty imposing sight.

Yeah that's exactly the problem. What do you do. At some point you've got to do something but it's a real shame because it's because of human intrusion that they behave like that. I would definitely arm myself if it was one fo the big guys, the lucky thing is they don't know their own strength so as long as you don't corner one they'll normally run away from you. Wouldn't want to test that idea and have it backfire however!

I'd definitely give them a wide berth. Can people actually be prosecuted if they shot one of them in their own home? You would be pretty worried with them around especially if you had young children.

Seriously devious those baboons. To see them trying those door handles is unbelivable. Doesn;t matter how much they try to warn the public, people will still vist the area and leave their doors unlocked.

What is quite funny is how the TV crews just observe and let the baboons trash restaurants and people's home all in the name of TV entertainment.
Ready to go!
That's something I need to watch!
