So did we tamper with the balls?

Storm in a teacup - if the Saffers aren't going to make a complaint they should shut up. But what a sterling last day of batting by England - Belly toughed it out this time!

Last test will be interesting - I don't think it will be drawn.

LOL but what you'd really love is a used car part forum, that would be right up your street wouldn't it dear?

Off cricket - just realised the season starts in April and I can kiss goodbye my weekends away. I love it really why wouldn't I like to make teas for 22+ blokes on a saturday?

You're doing sterling work there Kirsty. Cool

Posted 22.01.10, 10:58pm

Ah thanks, I think my sarnies are the best too, multiple fillings are the key! And I always do scones with jam and cream - especially if the opposing team are fielding second Wink

Posted 25.01.10, 3:01pm

But do you make your own scones Kirsty?

Posted 26.01.10, 6:25pm

I have done, but when they are in super for BOGOF at 60p a pack, it's a no-brainer, I don't bake that day.

Well, Teas time is coming around soon - village cricket should be starting up soon shouldn't it?

booo to all day cricket!  how long does the season last for?

Posted 20.04.10, 5:59pm

Right until the end of September! And I am on tea rota for the first match of the season at the weekend - oh the pressure, better make it a good one.

Posted 29.04.10, 5:58pm

your man is very lucky. It's virtually impossoble to find a woman who will give up a whole day on a Sat to make teas and watch a load of men hitting a ball round for hour on end!

Only three months and 25 days until the season begins - I better get polishing the trays and the cake stands.

I bet it will still be snowing then so you might have a bit longer to keep polishing those trays.

It's snowed in April before - it could happen - that would make the royal wedding a memorable one.

The great thing about cricket is that really the "season" never ends. You play at home in your own summer and away in your opponents - superb. This might get the forums going a bit so I'll put it out there. People who don't like cricket normally don't understand it. The rules etc.

I think also cricket fans tend to be spurred on by all the haters. It makes us feel special. It's the same sad enjoyment that I imagine marmite lovers get from being misunderstood!

hear hear!

Posted 22.01.11, 6:13pm

Hopefully we'll see a few keen hopefuls wanting to join the team after the success in Australia.

Cricket lovers are definitely a different breed. Most are avid rather than casual fans and it's hard to find people in other sports who are that passionate that they will spend thousands travelling round the world to watch their country.
