Really need a bit or warmth and sun to get me though these dark months, wondered if anyone has been to Egypt at this time of year?
A friend of mine is doing a Nile cruise this week and she got a really good deal, around £500 I think. Not sure if it's one of those cheesy ones that you need to dress up on...bit dodgy those.

OH no! what's the deal they make you dress up?? Don't they advertise that when you book?
Anyone seen 'An Idiot Abroad' with Karl Pilkington. The one they did in Egypt was great. The guy just couldn't get any sleep because drivers in Cairo seem to like honking their horns, even at 4am.

I was watching these last night. The guy is an absolute idiot and just speaks his mind. I watched the ones in China and India and they were just hilarious. Surely they will make a second series, but they'll have to offer Karl a lot to get him back on a plane.
Ready to go!
So what's the situation in Egypt now. A friend of mine is due to go on hliday in two weeks time but I'm not sure if it's the best time to be going there. Maybe the resorts are pretty safe now? For sure, the economy could do with the visitors.
In Istanbul, we won it five times!
I think that Egypt's tourism has ahad a pretty tough time of late. With the Sharks attacks and then the political situation in the country, I'm sure they'll be keen to ge tthings back to normal as quickly as possible. I'm sure most of the resorts will be safe for visitors now, but being so close to Libya is a worry too.

If they can then getting the tourism industry back on will be a top priority. The new gov will need funds after all.

Yeah I agree although I wouldn't say the proximity to Libya is an issue ... yet. You may get loyalists causing trouble when Gaddafi finally gets slotted but at the moment there is no more of an issue with Libya to Egypt as there is Syria to Turkey.
