When's the best time to go to Egypt

There always seem to be deals on but when is the best time to go, is it terribly hot all the time or are there cooler months?

Generally the hotter months are April to October and these can be quite oppressive so should be avoided. However you can often find cheaper deals during some of these months so it's worth looking at depending on your budget and tolerance for heat.

I just don't think I could cope with that intense heat - I'd have to spend all the time in the pool or in the AC.

It's cheaper for a reason, if it's too hot to do anything you're not going to enjoy the trip.

Hubby and I took a trip to cairo/luxor in May and it wasnt too bad, it was a dry hot heat but not impossible, we managed with lots of bottled water!  

We also have been to Taba in September and it was not stupidly hot you couldnt do anything, well theres not alot to do, but you know, you could lounge outside without being uncomfortable!

Hope that helps a little.

I'm looking at going to Egypt in the summer to do a diving course in Sharm El Sheik. Has anyone done it before or got any tips for someone who hasn't been scuba diving before?

Egypt is one of my top places that I haven't visited yet. Its got everything I'm interested in. History, interesting food and great diving!

Clearly not the time to be going. I wonder wehther it will all be resolved in time for the summer season coming up otherwise there are going to be a lot of disappointed people.

I don't think the protesters are going to be particularly bothered about whether people get to go on their holidays or not.
