Has anyone ever taken part in the Sydney Morning Herald Sun Run? It's a cheeky 4 mile run from Dee Why to Manly and takes you past the top Northern Beaches! Sounds like a good one to get involved in.

I never have but I heard it's great fun. Do you know how hot the weather is when the race is on?

Sounds great, like the sound of a Sun Run!

I think I'd rather un in the cold! (Not ice though!) As I hate being too hot.

Yeah me too, running in the sun sounds like a nightmare! Although it's only 4 miles so might not be too bad...

Me too - although 4 miles is quite a nice amount - there would be so much sweat though. I bet you have to drinks loads whilst running that.

Me too,  I go red enough running when it's chilly outside, let alone running in the heat

That's true, I never thought about actually running in the heat, just anything with sun in the title naturally sounds good to me Smile

This sounds nice - especially with it being so cold in the UK at the moment. As long as it wasn't at peak sun time I think it'd be okay.

Yeah, not between about midday and 2pm? I think that would be unbearable!

Posted 15.12.11, 1:06pm

That's what puts me off running -I hate getting too hot. It wreaks havoc on my eczema!

This is a great little route and takes in two of my favourite parts of Sydney. Happy times spent there...

This sounds like a really nice race, would love to do this if I was in Sydney!

I'd be tempted to sign up for this if I went over there again - great way to see the beaches.

The picture looks lovely on their website, makes me want to be there now

As one who runs very regularly in temperatures of up to 36C ( 100 in the old money ), there is only one way to do these Sun Runs ... a hat is compulsory !!

Posted 03.04.12, 7:06am

Well, they're brave, I'll give them that! Think I'd definitely need more than a hat though, hot weather or not!!

Same here! I'd have thought there would have been rules about running naked?

Posted 05.04.12, 3:34pm

What about a sports bra! Doesn't all the flapping get annoying?

I would have thought there'd be rules too!

It doesn't seem like it would be comfortable at all running naked!
