Hi all, my names Jason, Ive only been running for a few months when I decided I wanted to run the reading half marathon in march, anyone got any tips for a newbie? Thanks :)
That's great, it's good to have a goal to aim for! Good luck with the training! There are some good tips in the beginners' running section on here:

Thanks for the tip :) I didn't notice it before, and the site has some good adivce.
I did my first Reading one a couple of years ago and used the BUPA beginner to half marathon 12 week programme. Did the trick and I finished in 2:31.29.
Also, join us on tuesday nights at the Sweatshop Running Community. It's a nice easy regular 2.8 miler.
