I'm thinking of surprising my husband with a trip to run the '11 BSIM. We'd be traveling from the East Coast, probably spending 5-6 days in CA. With the marathon on a Sunday, would it be best to fly west on Friday and give him some recuperation time after the marathon (i.e., fly back home on Wednesday) or should we fly west on Wednesday and fly home on Monday (i.e., would he be too miserable sitting in a plane the day after running?)
Or maybe this doesn't even need to be taken into consideration and a dumb question?? Thanks for any input!
Not sure if you are still out there, but I would come in Friday and leave Wednesday. Going out doing something on Monday, Tuesday will help keep the muscles a bit looser. Plus there is so much to see an do, it would be better to do things after the run than before and come into the run on the tired side.
