POST PARTY-What do you want?

What do you think about the entertainment/food at the Post-Race Party? Is there anything we can do to make the party more enjoyable?

well its a little cramped but other than that perfect. Only thing I heard complaints about last year was only one flyover by the planes. As I am someone who moved out of the area I imagine someone complained about 3 flyovers. 1 flyover made it worthless. If I had to ask for one thing it would be more than one flyover this year. The boilermaker is all Utica has so I think the City of Utica dealing with a few flyovers for a couple minutes is not much to ask. Just thought of something else. You cant hear anything on Columbia St, when they announce the winners. The band you can just fine but anything spoken you cant hear. That should do it. 30 days til the great Boilermaker. My FAVORITE weekend of the year.

I agree - the flyover always gives me the chills. Having them circle back a couple of times would be great.

them circling back always made it great but a few people dont like it so they complain and ruin it for 20,000 people that love it. One is better than none but looking in the sky to see which way they are coming from the second and third time and screaming every time is just one of the boilermaker experiences you never forget. Flying over once makes it forgetful.

Hi Tim - By far, the Boilermaker is the best running event that I have ever participated in. The spectators are phenomenal and certainly help me to forget what it is I'm actually doing. The party is great - I would not change anything (although I do agree that the flyover(s) are thrilling and only add to the excitement of the day). NIk and the Nice Guys do a great job, as always. There are about 20 of us coming in on a limo bus and we extend the post race party a bit longer - we just hate to see it end. There is my suggestion - extend the post race festivities. Your race is the highlight of my summer!!! Thank you to you and all of the volunteers!!!

Tim, this is the best race I do every year. Great job! The post race party is a main reason that we come up from CT every year. The event has turned into an annual family reunion in New Hartford. The fly over is awesome, and I don't remember a single plane last year. We'd come without it, but it's another terrific highlight. The fireworks are great too. Last year's fruity beer choice didn't go over big with our family, but the price is right and we drank it and were grateful anyway! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to come this year and for many years to come.

On a non-post race party note: Requiring proof of time might be a good idea for the very crowded start. Good organization as far as volunteers getting the correct colors into their correct corals. But, I'm a 7:30 pace and I have to go around walkers in the first mile, not to mention slower runners.
