What can my family and I do while we are in Utica for the weekend? What’s the Distance Running Hall of Fame like?

I'm so interested to see this DISTANCE HALL OF FAME> How long should I allow myself to get through it? Do you think that younger people (my teenage daughter who runs track/X-Country) would be interested too? Where can I learn more about it?

Plan on spending at least an hour. Lots of memorabilia from past hall of famers. Video of induction ceremonies that highlight their careers.

There are also several tents and booths set up at the packet pick-up the day before. You can talk to running coaches, nutrition specialists, etc.
"The Health & Fitness Expo, sponsored by CDPHP, is the location of our race packet pickup. This healthy lifestyle event offers something for everyone including: a new food court, entertainment, prize drawings, race merchandise, a job fair, interactive booths, a runner’s forum, and more!" (from the Boilermaker website).
Also, there are a few Central NY places you may like to see depending on where you are coming from.

there is a really cool coffee shop called cafe domenico that my husband and i go to every boilermaker weekend. it is a large place, has a great atmosphere, plays great music, and has great coffee AND ice cream, too! i'm not sure which street the shop is on, but it is right on the boilermaker route.

You may want to tour the Brewery, drive up to the Adirondacks (about an hour away), visit Munson Williams Art Institute, tour the Stanly Theater if it is open (absolutely beautiful), visit Fort Stanwix, walk the Barge Canal and eat some of the best Italian food around!

So far we're not finding much to do but it seems like an interesting town nonetheless!

Anyone recommend any good restaurants?
