Hi Guys,
Congratulations to every one that run the Bupa 10k. It was my first ever run and I loved it.
Did any body use a GPS tracker for the run? I did and it appeared I did a bit longer than 10 k. (11.6k) what makes up the increase in distance? was it all the swerving i did lol
My watch clocked it at 6.27 miles (which Google tells me is 10.0905869 kilometers). Not bad...
An extra 1.6km of swerving shrek? A whole mile. Where did you swerve? Back to the car for something?

Thats what I thought. . . . I know it was hot but I dont think i got lost.
Thinking about it, I think that it may have got confused under the bridges
Hi I ran the London Bupa 10000 and i have a Motoactv running watch and it clocked 6.22miles so it was virtually spot on.
but i have read in various forums how some GPS devices can have little hiccups sometimes when measuring (including motoactv)
Can your gps device load the information onto a website so you can analyse where your watch actually thinks it ran...?
GPS is only accurate to a certain distance around you depending on signal strength, it could be a good few metres out which may only seem a little, but multiply this over a whole course distance and theres your extra mileage.
