Quoted from Carly_A:

At least you'd cancel out some of the calories.

But if you're running and then having doughnuts and beer you would still end up having more calories than if you didn't do the run or have the snacks

But if you were going to have the snacks anyway, then running would help Smile

Yeah it's better to do a little bit of running rather than just eating doughnuts and drinking beer haha

Haha fair point, I just think a lot of people would do the run then have snacks they wouldn't have had otherwise, which would defeat the object!

Oooh a race and you eat doughnuts ... that would be the thing to get me running :)

Me too, I know I eat more whenever I do exercise. Defeats doing it sometimes

I always tend to eat more 'bad' foods/drinks at the weekend - so I feel a lot better about it when I've done loads of exercise too!

I can't remember the last time I had a donut - I think it was at school. That was the staple snack at break time - I wonder if they are still serving them?

Me neither -it's not the sort of thing I would choose to eat now i'm 'all grown up!' They're far too sweet and processed. I would rather a scone with jam and clotted cream! (Showing my age now!).

After seeing the mention of donuts, I went home yesterday and ate two!! Jam ones!!

Yum! I think I'm more of a chocolate donut kinda gal if I had to choose. But other treats like rocky road and brownies are more my thing.

Me too. I don't think I ever really eat good donuts. Even the krispy kremes don't do it for me!

Posted 02.08.12, 5:35pm

I don't eat sugary foods now, but I can't remember ever really liking doughnuts, they always just seemed too 'bready'.

Posted 03.08.12, 12:09pm

I like having one every now and again if there's one that looks really good, but I think you're right hannah_mc - they are a bit too 'bready' - I'd rather just have chocolate.

I'm not a big fan of doughnuts but I always liked the smell of those little ones (are they american doughnuts?) they used to sell out of doughnut vans in town in the winter. Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about haha, but they have them in Liverpool so probably in other places.

Posted 07.08.12, 12:20pm

I think I know which ones you mean - pretty sure they smell better than they taste!

Posted 08.08.12, 2:15pm

Them ones are amazing - so good when they're warm.

Posted 14.08.12, 4:37pm

That smell reminds me of Liverpool so much! I've never tasted them though. They remind me of the seaside.
