T-shirt design!

Does anyone else feel that the T-shirts have historically not been up par, especially when considering this has become a first class race?

I think Co-Active marketing which is a sponsor has been involved with the Pig from the begining and is responsble for graphics. It's a shame that a first class race has a look to it that feels decidely second class (especially in a city with some of the world's best known and highly respected global design firms). Does anyone know who we can contact to voice an opinion?

Hi!

I agree. This is my 6th year doing the race. I am very displeased as well and have voiced my opinion many times. You can visit the Flying Pig's website and give your suggestions. I think a simple design that stays the same year after year is what they need. I have also run the Columbus half marathon and they give dri-fit's to their half marathoners. For 60 some dollars all I get is a cotton tshirt at the Flying Pig. We have local races that give dri-fits. I also think they could do much better on the color for the men. How about a black dri fit? I am with you and trust me you are not the only one that complains.

How much trouble/expense would there be in having a white or pink technical T-shirt?  One more blue or gray shirt and I'll cross the finish line and barf in protest!  I've sent enough emails and responded to every post-race survey.

Race organizers should want something distinctive and not so mundane.  One would think......

Again?

it's almost like they want the t-shirt to suck so you'll buy one at the expo. Asics had a couple that were better. It's not tough to improve on the official stuff.

I set my 2009 shirt down next to my 2007 shirt and the color was virtually identical. Now I'll have a "permanent" bib on the front of my shirt if I wear it out running. I can hear the shouts now, "Hey buddy! Where's the race?" or "Hey Rosie! Are you cutting the course???".

The only advantage to that color is that I can wear it running trails and not have to worry too much if it gets muddy.

My friends and I were very disappointed with the shirts again this year.  Even worse than last year!  We filled out the survey they sent out with an overall excellent report card with the exception of the shirts!  We would rather give up the fancy bag for a great tech shirt!  If not a tech shirt at least a decent design logo that doesn't look like something the cracker barrel would sell.

I have never run the Flying Pig. However; of the 13 marathon and 17 half marathon t-shirts I have received, this was the least creative and the one on the bottom of my t-shirt drawer.
