Subject: 5k Run
Hey everyone,
I'm going to attempt the 5k Run. This will be my first run of any kind like this. My goal to complete this race is 30 minutes but hopefully I can get in a little quicker than that!
Last year, I had worked out to lose some weight and I began walking/jogging with the Nike+ system. Of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas came and all the weight came back. I have recently started back on my newer, healthier eating habits as well as getting more exercise. At the end of December I weighed 280lbs. My next weigh-in is January 20th and I'm hoping to be down to at least 260lbs.
If you want to follow my story, just check out my blog- www.iconway.blogspot.com Can't wait to see everyone on Race Day!!!

Weighed-in this morning and I was down 14 pounds to 266 from 280! 10 more days until my 'official' weigh-in. 6 Pounds in 10 Days! I'm on it!

Hello iconway,
I just came across this site and saw your post. I see that your enthusiasm was met with a collective *yawn*. That was my experience too for almost a week. It must be the culture of these forums.
But I thought I would give you kudos for what you are doing. I visited your blog and saw that this will be your first 5k. Alright! I will be a "veteran" with a big ONE under my belt. My first will be on Feb 21. Can't wait!
See you in March!
