Looking for a nice place to visit in the lakes in October - anyone got any suggestions? Maybe a little hotel with a pub nearby and lots of walks.

Thx

We stayed at Wastwater last year, it is a beautiful part of the lakes but extremely remote. We stayed in a camping pod at a campsite located at the end of the lake but there is a nearby hotel, houses you can rent and a couple of pubs. I believe there are some great walks around here and the lake but the weather was so dreadful when we were there we spent most of our time driving around the country roads or in the pub! If the weather is good for you I would recommend staying here and it is perfect if you want to get away from the popular touristy spots such as Windermere (we drove here from Wastwater through Rhinos pass, great drive but takes a couple of hours).
