I've started planning my summer holiday as I need the thought of some sun to look forward to! Thinking of going to Capri in Italy, has anyone ever been?

It's really beautiful but it can be pricey too. When are you planning to go?

I went to sorrento on the mainland just over from Capri. It's a beautiful area you'll have a great time.

I'm not sure when I'd go - some time either side of the school holidays probably, maybe June or August... Is it pricey? I had a little look at accomodation last year and got the idea it was quite cheap? Oh well hopefully it will be worth it either way, it does look beautiful!

Just had a quick look- it looks beautiful! Is there a lot of stuff to do there?

You've given me a good idea for my next holiday. I think it would be a good idea to also pop over to Sorrento. Does anyone know if there is anywhere else good in the area to visit?

The Vesuvius national park is easily accessible just up the bay from both Sorrento and Capri. A must see.

I'm not really sure where's nearby (other than Naples) but I'm happy just to chill out in Capri I think! I'd like to go to the Blue Grotto, I read about it in a book and it sounds beautiful!

Limoncello on tap in this area. Ooh mouth watering at the thought!

Never tried limoncello, what's it like? I guess if it's on tap it'd be rude not to try it while I'm there! Smile

Yeah ha ha. Its not literally tap, although draft lemoncello would be interesting to say the least. Its very nice. A sugary lemon liqueur made from lemon peel basically. Very sweet and refreshing. In capri they often make a cream liquer in a similar fashion but I prefer the normal stuff made from just lemons.

Haha I didn't think so, although that would be good! Sounds really nice, will definitely be giving that a go! Getting excited now and I still have at least 5 months to go... Frown

Getting really excited for my holiday now, but I was reading about Capri and apparently the beaches are really rocky with no sand! Does anyone know if you can still sunbathe on them??
