Has anyone got any suggestions of good places to visit in Greece?

I've only ever been to Crete, which was OK, but I don't think I would go again. Although the food was nice!

Athens is a great city but a couple of days there is enough. Without doubt, seeing the Acropolis at night is as memorable an iconic experiece as you will ever see. Head for the market in the Plaka if you 've got a bit of time on your hands.

Ithica has been somewhere I have always wanted to visit, nice ans secluded and I think you'd get a feel for the real Greece there.

Santorini is the best I've been to and I've been to quite a few. Just be prepared for the black volcanic sands under foot!

Just Google'd the black sand - doesn't look too nice...
I'm not a fan of black sand, there was a lot of black sand when we went to Tenerife and it just didn't look as pretty, plus you ended up covered in it and just looking a bit dirty!

It's not just how unsightly it looks but also the fact that it is so bloody hot. You'll barely be able to stand on it for more than a few seconds in your bare feet.

Black sand beaches aren't so bad once you get over seeing it all stuck to you. It may look unsightly but it's no worse than the sand on a regular beach. Santorini is an absolutely top place to go and one of my favourites. It's worth going to Thira to see the ancient ruins of the city. I went to Santorini back in 1994 taking the ferry from Anthens all the way there. What an experience.

I stayed at Perissa Beach and found it a great area to be located especially if you prefer things on the quieter side. Aside from a few street markets and a few places to eat there's not that much though that's how I like it.
It ain't half hot when you're running, mum.
I've been to quite a few Greek Islands. Santorini, Naxos and Paros for starters. Was quite intrigued at the suggestion that Greece sell off some of these in order to sort their current economic crisis.
Ready to go!

I'm sure that didn't go down too well. I think the idea, suggested by some German politicians, was that they should sell off some of the uninhabited islands to ease their financial crisis.
