I was wondering if anyone could suggest features I should be looking for in a sports watch?

Depends what you want it for and what you want it to do - doesn't it Undecided?

Hmm well features I've looked for in mine is waterproof, stop watch and pedometer.  I've found all the features really useful :) hope this helps!

I wouldn't know where to start with sports watches, as there are so many on offer. I would want one that's quite lightweight and comfortable so that I wouldn't mind wearing it while running - I can imagine a heavy or chunky one will rub or feel itchy once you start sweating on your run.

Thank you Rachel and Helen you've been most helpful :p

I have a Breo one and that's rather lightweight, more like a rubber bracelet actually. I only paid £10

I have a Breo watch too! They're great and for the cheap price it's a great buy :) I highly recommend

My boyfriend recently bought a Nike+ GPS sports watches and he's very pleased with it. I'm not much help when it comes to stuff like this, but he was going "oooohhh, look at this!" when he opened it, so I'm guessing it must be good!

GPS, so does that track you journey?

Posted 13.09.12, 12:50pm

It sure does :) It tells you lots of info about your run. It's really clever! Do you have a running watch?

Ahh you do have a running watch. Just seen the post you wrote way up there ^^^

I'd quite like something like this for my bike. Does anyone know if these exist?

I've been looking for one for a while too, can't find one anywhere.  I might try halfords next and i'll let you know!

Garmin do loads of great stuff for the bike, but this is why I said what I did about what do you want the watch for, the more we know, the better we can answer your question. If its for running you'll not need as many features as if its for triathlon, whilst if you're a mountain man you might want an altimeter in there and it would have to be tough so you don't smash it climbing rocks. Have a look on Wiggle.

I was looking for a normal sports watch for running initially.  But I also cycle so this is a new development to the thread.  It was firstly about average sports watches for running/walking etc.  I didn't know what to ask for because that was the whole point in me asking in the forums...
