Van Logistics

I'm interested in fielding a team of 6 runners and one van/driver. I am looking for any advice on how to stage drop offs, pick ups, and rest stops for both runners and driver. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. You're all nuts, you know that, right?

1. Did you get in as an Ultra??

Based on what you posted - if you want 1 van with a dedicated driver then that driver doesn't get any rest per se and the off runners will have to sleep on the move.

2. Go with 2 vehicles so 1 is 'down' while the other is on course.  Layout a spreadsheet with the runners paces and how much they can do at one time (Ultras can run multiple legs at once) - that will define all your transitions, especially the vehicle transition.

3.  Then the off vehicle can go to the next VTA and get some rest.  The on course vehicle will be 'following' the runner on course.  Leave enough time to drop off the on deck runner.

I have an un-offical guide I put together from the suggestions of several RTB vets and from previous posts.  It's really geared to a non-Ultra team but it still gives you a good feel for the race logistics.  E-mail me at:
