have applied to run in the 07 marathon this is the first time ive entered and will be my first marathon i really want to to do this what are the chances of being accepted first time and did anyone else get in on their first attempt?
Yes, I managed to get in through the ballot first time (1999). I reckon I have been quite lucky, in 7 attempts I have been accepted 4 times through the ballot, and 2 other occasions I managed to get a place through my running club. The one year I missed out, I did the Manchester marathon instead.
this is my first time applying for the london marathon aswell. i reallly want to know if not getting throught he ballot means that there will be no chance of running in 2007, or would there still be some golden bond places left, i have have written to 3 similar charities, when do you usually hear from them about whether or not you have a space.?
