with not long left I'm trying to make sure I have got everything I need ready so no last minute panics, so far I have, my running clothes, warm clothes to change into after, hat, suncream (in case hot), bumbag, vaseline. Not sure wether to take a light weight waterproof coat and also been advised to take a bin liner to wear at the start. Any other ideas?

Don't forget the jelly babies! Excellent source of sugar for a boost at 15 miles!

At the end I find some Wet Wipes, and a small hand towel useful. To get the salty sweat off my face, and try to freshen up a bit. If you change your trainers, make sure the ones you change into are the softest and most comfortable you possess, your feet will not thank you for anything tight fitting. Maybe handy to have some plasters, just in case.
And, if the weather is like now, some old warm clothes that you can discard at the start to keep you warm after you've handed your kitbag in.
