Loos on the day
Ok its been touched upon on several other threads but no rewarding inforamtion has come back!
Are there loos around the course - porta loos or similar
Are they just for runners or will we have to queue with the spectators
can we nip into pubs along the route and use their loos.
Experiend london runners come on and give us new London Marathon runners the benefit of your experience.
I am not 'experienced' as such but have just done FLM once last year - doing it again this year. I was worried about loos as well but don't worry - there are enough stops but you will come across queues. One thing I did notice was that the loos got a bit 'worse' (if you get my meaning) as time wore on! Nice thing about going to the loos is that it is a chance to sit down but further on down hard to get up again!
another little tip - put a bit of loo roll somewhere about your person!
Was having a chat today with experienced marathon runner. he advised not to drink too much before the race as the first loo stop at the 1 miles mark have very long queues. I was also advised that if you are planning on wearing a bin liner at the start that this can help hide you in the bushes so no Paula Radcliff!!
there are always Qs for the portaloos along the route, so follow the other other runners and:
- go behind a bush, a car or turn to the nearest wall!
If you have to go you have to go, believe me...
paula radcliffe didn't use the loos!
