...well....no-one's been on here for a whiley so thought I'd just dip my toes in.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the fab weather we're having. I know some of you are not fans of heat (Sooks / Rob) but I LOVE it !!
So, that's it, nothing of any interest to say, altho that doesn't usually stop me !!
Oh last LSR tomoz at 8.00 to beat the heat....20 miles with 2 running pals, one who will stop half way but the other has also entered the ultra we are doing on 25th July will keep on plodding with me.....have a good old route mapped out so fingers crossed it will be FUN !!!!! Local league run on Sunday morning as well....only 4.5 miles but starts at 11.00 so will be redders by then probably.
Right, I can feel the yawns and eyes glazing over from here....am away now.
Be safe everyone and enjoy the weekenders. xx

50 to do - will let you know when I'm there !
And is the water hot Nu? Good luck with the ultra - think I'll give that a miss.
According to my training program I should be doing 16 miles over the weekend, don't know if I will in this hot weather. My brother and his family, along with my parents, are off to spend three weeks in the South of France (I have to work
). Nothing much planned though
Spoogie37, as named by The Style Council - not the pop group but some strange woman I used to work with who wanted to put me on the Trinny and Susannah show.

Nuala bird -
So why do you want to beat the heat if you love it!!
Swam today, all nice and relaxing. Hardest part was walking back from the gym through that oven! As for doing 20 milers at the moment - sod that for a caper! I shall now be spending the weekend supping cold ciders, Saturday of course being my day off running/swimming.
As I went to the spec shop last weekend I'm going to go back tomorrow and try out contacts - thought they might be handy to wear just for running sometimes. Turns out you can get 'daily' ones now which would be ideal for that.

Rob - I do love the heat but it's best enjoyed either sitting in the garden Pimms in hand, or in a pub garden Pimms in hand, or a shandy, or a G & T, or......
Contacts eh ?? We won't know you.

Bonsoir, mes amis.

Sir C, you should always post in French, helps keep it up for the rest of us! Haven't been over there for years, I really must head back to Brittany one day.
I tried the contacts out Nu, they were slightly weird at first. A bit like having something in your eye (funnily enough...)

I tried them out and found I couldn't get the pesky things out and wasn't that keen on putting them in either for that matter (must just be me), so still with glasses.
Yes, not expecting to wear them all the time, but for running (and swimming?) they would be handy sometimes.

Very Handy for running, especially when its peeing down Rob - I'm like you (wear specs all the time) but like to wear the dailies occasionally. I wear them if on hols as well as like to be able to see where I'm swimming
but opticians warn against it as they say you can infection in the eye... although I've not had issues in 10 years of wearing them, but maybe I've been lucky??
Yep, for running in the rain would be handy - don't really need them for swimming in the pool, there's very rarely anything I need to see in there!

Except for the undercrackers that "accidentally" get in your way!!

Yes, well, these things will always happen!!

Amazing that you've been putting lentils in your eyes for that long with no problems!
I need to plan a trip abroad for my 40th next year, perhaps I'll go then...

I already have my holidays planned out for next year

No surprise there!!
Nice one Sparky......knob!!
Pah. I prefer the excitement of the spontaneous approach - leaving it until the last minute. Although what usually happens at the last minute is that I can't be bothered & just go to the pub instead. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Post just for you there
My friend is moving to Singapore in January for a couple of years so at the end of next year going to do Hong Kong/Singapore then somewhere else in SE Asia to go visit her. Oh yes (better get a decent bonus this year to pay for it!!!)
I`m only jealous cos I`m going to Great Yarmouth
Nice one Sparky......knob!!
At least you'll be at the best of the Yarmouths.
I'm not too sure about these contact lenses now. It occurred to me that there's nothing to stop them slipping back all the way round to the back of the eye, and I'm told apparently that this does sometimes happen!!
