Hello everyone......well, the 08 site is fading....unless you are all way too busy sunning your bods, drinking beer and recovering next day !
Big relief all around today I guess, if anyone's interested. I'm not normally a footie fan but it is hard to resist the pull of these big tournaments. It's all just way too stressy tho....sod being a seasoned fan !
Nowt much else to report - am havin a wee break from mara running until mid July - very tempted to do more before then but no, sensible is sometimes my middle name...just kicking back, doing some club league runs plus Bewl 15 in a weeks time at which I will have the delightful Leo for company....(having said that my next mara is an Ultra....no way around it as nothing much going on locally and I don't want to travel too far afield).
Have a lovely day everyone.....it really is fab out there. xxx

Too busy looking on the work database for something that almost certainly isn't there!
And I have a mid-year review on Monday
Saw the footie yesterday, was better (though could hardly have been much worse) but rather underwhelming. Plan to do a tempo run later, hope its not too hot. Completely missed that epic tennis match last night, wonder if they'll finish today?

Hi there Nu, Spoogie, Robert and fellow buzzers
Didn't see the end of the epicness but what a match, wow.
So Germany on Sunday, trick one that.
Good luck with your ultra there Nu, good going.
2008 could go the way of 09 (wonder why that died?) anyhow maybe we could merge with 10 or 11? strictly speaking it wouldn't actually be a merge as I suspect there would be no financial implications or share holders voting so would be more of just going on either site really!!!
Who's your money on for Wimble then Robert? I've got to go with Fed, class act!!!

Hellooooo
I'm still lurking around 08, just been soooo busy, as usual.

What counts in the end is not how many years you get in your life, but how much life you get in your years.
Hi Jan

Morning all......glad you all well.
I guess FB is now our newish way to chat but still nice to get on here once in a whiley. My work has issued warnings on accessing chat rooms etc during work hours so one has to be careful nowadays......also puts the blockers on checking on sports results during the day but hey ho.
Got a half day today to go for a 15 mile run in oh.....20 mins and am not even ready for my pick up yet....ARRRRRGGGHHHHH....work laters...so best be off then. Be good and enjoy the lovely weather....did I say that yesterday ?? Oh well....

Best get going before it gets too hot then! I ran last night & didn't suffer too much with the heat in the end.

Morning
Managed my tempo run last night - and was actually a bit quicker than the time specified in the program. Just an easy run of just under 4 miles planned for lunchtime.

Morning Rosie, Rob, Spoogie....and anyone else lurking....
Phew - got my run in and by Christ...it was HOT !! Got black spots before my eyes after 3 miles due to being so rushed to get out, I skipped brekkie...WRONG...and yes Rob....rookie mistake.....luckily my pal had some Dextrose tablets...good they were and off we went. Had my pals dog with us and even he was knackered...2 year old lab and he flaked out at the end. Beautifful out there tho on South Downs.....all good. Quick loll in the garden then off to work for a few hours....

Aye it is very hot. Wasn't sure whether I'd manage the whole 20 miles because I drank all my lucozade with 5 miles left to go, even though I set off at 6:15am it was still really hot! Anyway, managed the 20 and was glad to get home and take on lots of fluid.
