I've posted this on the 2010 board, but perhaps some of you 2009 runners can remember...
I was rejected from the ballot in 2009 and 2010 and have not received an email about priority entry for 2011, so I decided to phone them up and was told that they have no record of me entering in 2009.
When I applied in 2009 I was asked to select up to 5 charities that I'd like to run for. I have an email sent to me from a charity saying 'Thank you for chosing us when you entered the general ballot', but this is not good enough proof for Virgin.
I can't find the rejection letter from 2 years ago and was told the only way that they would send out the priority email was if I could prove that I paid the entry fee in April 2008. I told them that I didn't think I had paid, as I didn't bequest the entry fee and at the time Flora stated that if I were successful in the October that I could pay the fee then. I was told that the system was that I would have paid first and then been re-imbursed if I was unsuccessful.
Can anybody remember if we had to pay up front for the 2009 entry?
Can anyone suggest a way of proving to Virgin that I did get rejected from the ballot in 2009, given that their database shows no entry?

I'm sure we paid up front in 2009 it was only last year that they started the early online entry system. hope this helps. Anne

We paid up front for 2009, although the money was only taken out if we were successful from what I remember. It wouldn't be on any bank statements then. Also, remember reading someone's blog of where they had made an error on their postcode and it wasn't picked up by the computer as a consequetive entry. Could you have done this?
Yep paid up front in 2009 - money was only taken out if successful or obviously if you bequeathed.
Nothing is impossible
I have the same problem Crazylegs, they have no record of my 2009 entry and subsequent rejection. I distinctly remember giving them my card details at the time of entry although I didn't bequeath and can't find any record of payment so I guess we are stuffed!!!
Ooh, I've got my head back

I decided to phone them last week and eventually got through. I asked for an email address to complain and to forward the charity email that I mentioned in my first post (which they said was not sufficient proof). I sent it and they came up trumps and agreed that it was ok proof.
I entered the priority ballot last Thursday! - Guess I got very lucky!!
