I haven't been able to find a lot of information about this event online, and am getting kinda confused. Is this to benefit victims of domestic violence? If so, how does that work?

The website is www.needforspeedrelay.org for details. Participants fundraise for this event and money is granted by the Avon Foundation to selected domestic violence organizations in the community of the race to help children of domestic violence. They are also Charity Partners with 7 other relays across the country where you can fundraise as part of the National Series (needforspeedrelay.org/series)
