Great Training Weather

Could not help but hearing the rain last night & thought 'gotta do it'.  So dragged my self out of bed this morning & hit the road.  Needless to say it was raining steady and a couple of times it just opened up & thought;

this is just like coming out of Meridith in 2002, running up the hill while the river in the street was running down, naaaaa not quite right

maybe like the last leg in 2004 & running down the sea wall with the wind wipping the surf over the wall and then having to run through the small lake that was the parking lot to the finish, naaaaaa not quite right either

coming into Candia in 2007, that's the one.  Skies opened up so much the last 1/2 mile you could barely see 20 feet in front of you and the rain was sideways -- yep that's it.

After a crappy week at work, this was SO rejuevenating.  Said a little prayer thanking God I can still do things this foolish (told myself I was young at heart Surprised)  - at 51 I'm starting to see many of my comtempararies have health issues and the run really hit home as to how lucky I am to not yet face those issues.

So - Run In The Rain - you may have to during the RTB anyway and it may do a world of good for your mind/body/soul.....

Funny, I got this email from a teammate this morning:

"When I awoke at 2am and listened to the rain till 5am I was feeling as though Van 2 was indeed out there and Dave was going to wake me up at any time even though I was awake already.

Rain = RTB"

You weren't the only one thinking it!  Except he didn't have the motivation to actually get up and run like you did!

And yes, we should all count our lucky stars that we can run this race.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a couple of months...

Great picture!

It's definitely prime training time.  The RTB is on my mind quite a bit lately too.
