Hi everyone
Thank's for fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital, you are making such a difference! The London Marathon is such an amazing occasion and whether it's your first time or you do it every year you'll be blown away by the support.
Has anyone started training yet? If you keep a training diary it would be great to update the forum - first time runners really appreciate the tips!
If you need any fundraising tips or advice, please get in touch - anyone had a succesful fundraising event?
Thanks again

Marathon training starts today for me! Just wanted to say good luck to everyone. I think I'd say I'm nervously excited. I've been running for just over a year and have done a few races before but nothing on the scale or length of the London marathon. Hopefully I'll find some motivation on here in the coming months when the weather fails to get above freezing for weeks on end!

A couple of weeks into training now for both Mrs S and I.
We're both following the same training plan (runner world sub 4hr garmin ready schedule)juggling looking after Ben (our 4 year old) - good job Mrs S likes to run in the mornings and I'm happy running after work!
Everything's going fairly well - long runs progressing steadily up to 9 miles this weekend - but I can't help feeling like I'm behind where I was this time last year, maybe because I'm running faster?
Good luck to everyone running for GOSHCC and any others that get to read this. I completed FLM09 having not run further than twice round a rugby field before my training started but managed to complete it in 4:43. I missed my target time by a country mile but the support from the crowd and the GOSHCC cheering posts especially in Canary Wharf (where I was in a very bad place) got me through!
Give it your best and that's all you can do and remember - it's never too late to start raising money!!
