What would be the anticipated weather for this years running?
I think it's probably too early for an actual forecast, but Weather.com gives these past averages for the month of September:
Average High 73° F
Average Low 55° F
Average Precip. 3.91 in.
And these for October:
Average High 63° F
Average Low 44° F
Average Precip. 3.67 in.

on the Napeague --- mile 9 through 16 you are always going to have wind. If it is a warm day, a warm wind. If it is a cold day, yikes!!! So try running somewhere windy when you are tired on a long run. Last year the wind was benign and the sun was out.
At mile 14 you have an osprey nest which right now has two parents and one chick. Usually they are gone by raceday. The bay here is a favorite spot for windsurfers.
Does anyone know about whether or not the weather from the hurricanes is expected to affect the weather on race day?
Doubtful, unless it's a hurricane that hasn't been born yet.
There is a small chance of rain the week before the race, and highs in the low 70s.
