I hear this is really beautiful wine country. Does anyone know this area? What wineries are in this region that they can recommend?

There are definitely two wineries I'd suggest, Clonakilla and Lark Hill.

Clonakilla has won numerous awards for their Shriaz Viognier and are one of the few wineries in Australia that produce that style of wine.

Also, I'd really recommend Grazing - it's a beautiful restaurant in Gundaroo (still part of the region but a little further out - see Map) which features local produce and wines from the region.
